What is Glassmorphism?
Glassmorphism is a popular UI trend that imitates the look of frosted glass. It creates a sense of depth and hierarchy by using transparency and background blur (backdrop-filter) to make elements appear as if they are floating over the background.
Key CSS Properties
- backdrop-filter: blur(): The core property that blurs the content behind the element.
- background: rgba(): Sets a semi-transparent white or black background color.
- border: A subtle, semi-transparent white border mimics the edge of a glass pane.
- box-shadow: Adds depth to separate the glass layer from the background.
Browser Compatibility
The backdrop-filter property is supported by all modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari). Firefox requires manually enabling a flag or falling back to a semi-transparent background without the blur.
