Methodology
Calculating age isn't simply subtracting the year of birth from the current year. The number of days in months varies (28, 30, or 31), and leap years occur every 4 years (adding a 29th day to February).
Leap Years
A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except for end-of-century years, which must be divisible by 400. This calculator automatically accounts for leap days in the total day count.
Chronological Age vs. Biological Age
This tool calculates your chronological age—the amount of time that has passed from your birth to the given date. Biological age, which reflects your physical health and cell aging, can be different depending on lifestyle, diet, and exercise.
